Immigration policies in Costa Rica

Somehow, the migration policy for students is good because it keeps the immigrant controlled. U.S. Department of State says “Individuals planning to study in Costa Rica can only apply for a student visa from Costa Rican Immigration after arriving in the country. Neither the Costa Rican Embassy in Washington, DC nor its Consulates have the authority to issue student visas. This has led to some confusion by airline employees who mistakenly believe that individuals traveling to Costa Rica as part of a legitimate exchange program must have a return travel date that is less than 90 days from their initial date of travel.” That’s persons really are in on control.

The immigrants persons are obligate to do something exams to be accepted or no. “Once filed, the application undergoes a process of examination, correction and approval or rejection, depending on the particular case, by the Residency Department and the Immigration Council respectively. The documents are assigned a preliminary file number known as "previous" and then a definite number after they are completed for processing. The Technical Department makes a "check in the box" examination of the application, its documents and requirements and returns the file to the Residency Department” by Costa Rican Immigration Laws 2007 version. In some cases that’s an excellent process.

The slowly process in immigration sometimes are the cause of the illegal immigration. “It has been stated, quite objectively, that the process is very cumbersome and bureaucratic. Other factors are the internal directives, decrees or binding court rulings that from time to time change the rules of procedure or of contents. Even though this process can be done by the applicant without a lawyer, it is strongly recommended that you retain the services of a reliable professional, given the context into which the process develops.” By the Immigration Laws 2007 version. Foreigners get tired of waiting for a document that accredits them as legal immigrants, and choose to "gamble" as illegal.

The process of immigration in Costa Rica is change in polices of that. In a web site says “Costa Rica is making a real effort to streamline its immigration process, and everyone agrees it’s high time for a change. Even with all the flux, the categories of residency are fairly straightforward, and not apt to change significantly anytime soon. What may change is where you apply for residency and how quickly your papers are processed” By Erin Van Rheenen. In short, Costa Rica, always tried to make changes, but some structures do not allow these changes are evident.
